PetaFinds is a mobile product discovery platform for Pettah, Colombo, Sri Lanka. This Privacy Policy explains how PetaFinds collects, uses, stores, and protects information.
1. What PetaFinds Does
PetaFinds helps users search for products listed by independent businesses. PetaFinds does not sell products, process payments, deliver goods, or act as the seller.
2. Information We Collect
Users may browse PetaFinds without creating an account.
If a user creates an account, we may collect:
- name
- email address
- phone number, if provided
- saved products or app preferences
For businesses, we may collect:
- business name
- owner or manager contact details
- business address
- phone number
- WhatsApp number
- product listings
- product images
- product descriptions and prices
We may also collect technical and usage information, including:
- device type
- operating system
- app interactions
- search terms
- product views
- business page views
- call or WhatsApp button clicks
- approximate location from IP address
- crash and performance data
3. How We Use Information

- operate the app

- allow businesses to manage listings

4. Analytics and Third-Party Services
PetaFinds may use third-party services such as Firebase, Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Cloud Storage, Firestore, and Algolia.
These services may process technical, usage, and listing data to help the app function, search products, store data, and improve reliability.
5. Business Contact Information
Business contact details may be displayed publicly inside the app so users can contact businesses directly.
6. Data Sharing
PetaFinds does not sell personal information.
We may share information only when necessary:
- with service providers that help operate the app
- to comply with law or legal requests
- to investigate misuse, fraud, or security issues
- as part of a business transfer, merger, or restructuring
7. User-Generated and Business-Generated Content
Businesses are responsible for the product listings, images, descriptions, prices, and claims they upload.
Users should verify product details directly with businesses before purchasing.
8. Data Retention
We keep information only as long as needed to operate the app, provide services, resolve disputes, enforce policies, or meet legal obligations.
9. Account Deletion
If account creation is available, users may request account deletion from inside the app or by contacting support at support@petafinds.lk.
Deleting an account may remove personal account data, but some records may be retained where required for legal, security, fraud prevention, dispute, or business record purposes.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect data. However, no digital platform can guarantee complete security.
11. Children
PetaFinds is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
12. International Use
If users access PetaFinds outside Sri Lanka, their information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted in the app or through another reasonable notice method.

By using PetaFinds, you agree to these Terms.
1. Platform Role
PetaFinds is a product discovery platform. PetaFinds does not sell, own, manufacture, verify, deliver, or guarantee any products listed in the app.
All products are listed by independent businesses.
2. No Transactions Through PetaFinds
PetaFinds does not process payments or handle transactions. Any purchase, payment, delivery, warranty, return, refund, or dispute happens directly between the user and the business.
3. No Guarantee of Product Accuracy
PetaFinds does not guarantee:
- product authenticity
- product quality
- product availability
- price accuracy
- business accuracy
- stock availability
- legality of any listed item
Users must confirm all details directly with the business before making any purchase.
4. Counterfeit, Fake, or Misleading Products
PetaFinds does not allow counterfeit, illegal, or misleading listings. However, listings are provided by independent businesses, and PetaFinds may not review every listing before it appears.
If you believe a listing is fake, illegal, misleading, or infringes rights, report it using the app or contact support@petafinds.lk.
5. User Responsibility
Users agree to:
- use the app lawfully
- verify products and prices directly with businesses
- not misuse the app
- not scrape, copy, attack, or disrupt the app
- not submit false reports
6. Reports and Takedowns
PetaFinds may review, restrict, remove, or disable listings or accounts at its discretion.
Submitting a report does not guarantee removal, but PetaFinds may act where it believes a listing violates policy, law, user safety, or platform trust.
7. Third-Party Businesses
Businesses listed on PetaFinds are independent third parties. PetaFinds is not their agent, partner, employer, representative, distributor, or reseller.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PetaFinds is not liable for:
- fake, counterfeit, defective, unavailable, or misdescribed products
- incorrect prices
- business conduct
- user-business disputes
- payments made outside the app
- delivery failures
- loss, damage, injury, or claims arising from dealings with businesses
9. No Warranty
PetaFinds is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not promise uninterrupted, error-free, or fully accurate service.
10. Account Suspension
We may suspend or restrict access if a user violates these Terms, abuses the platform, submits false information, or creates risk to the platform or others.
11. Intellectual Property
PetaFinds owns or licenses the app design, branding, platform structure, software, and non-business-generated content. Users may not copy or exploit the app without permission.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, unless mandatory consumer protection laws require otherwise.

Report and Takedown
PetaFinds Report and Takedown Process

1. Reporting a Product
Users may report a product if they believe it is:
- fake
- counterfeit
- illegal
- misleading
- wrongly priced
- using stolen images
- listed under the wrong category
2. What Happens After a Report
PetaFinds may:
- log the report
- review the product
- contact the business
- request proof
- temporarily hide the product
- permanently remove the product
- suspend the business
3. Emergency Removal
PetaFinds may immediately remove listings that appear illegal, harmful, counterfeit, deceptive, or risky to users or the platform.
4. No Guarantee
PetaFinds may decide whether action is necessary. A report does not automatically mean a listing will be removed.
